The Mandalorian: Giancarlo Esposito teases potential Season 3 & 4 plans

In a recent interview with People, when asked about the upcoming second season of The Mandalorian, Emmy-nominated actor Giancarlo Esposito teased new details about the new season’s exploration towards The Child/ Baby Yoda’s unknown powers and the origins of his character Moff Gideon’s Darksaber. In addition, he also talked about the future of the Star Wars series by seemingly confirming the potential plans for the unannounced third and fourth seasons.

“The next season of ‘The Mandalorian’ is going to be very interesting because you’re going to start to find out the power of The Child, what The Child really means,” Esposito said. “You will also start to uncover the origins of the Darksaber that Moff Gideon has and how that plays into previous Star Wars history connected to ‘The Clone Wars’ and other shows. And you’ll start to get a real dramatic sense of the territory.”

He continued, “We’re living in a universe that is huge and has so much to explore. So I think this show is going to start to lay the groundwork for the depth and breadth that’s going to come in season 3 and season 4, where you’re really gonna start to get answers.”

Although it hasn’t been officially ordered, creator Jon Favreau have previously revealed last April that pre-production of The Mandalorian Season 3 have already started with Favreau also confirming that the new safety restrictions won’t actually delay its potential production.
